Today was the second "Community Cares" Scholarship fundraiser. We had a BBQ at Mist Gardens and unfortunately got a bit wet. The weather has been nothing but rain for the past few weeks but we tried to make it happen anyway. About 60 wonderful people came out to support the kids and enjoyed hamburgers, hotdog's and some great chicken. I have to thank John, Joe and especially Brooks daddy for cooking all the meat!

Even though it rained on us we still got to hear some great performances by the young and very talented Tatiana, Jessica and Chosen, a young man from Floresville who has begin making music for the Lord.We also enjoyed a quick back to school fashion show where the kids modeled school supplies rather than clothing. After the show we gave the school supplies to all the youth in attendance. Lots and lots of fun.Even though it rained, we were very blessed to have so many supporters still come out. Thanks guys!

Now, here comes the funny stuff! Before we started the BBQ, there were many things I had to do. Unfortunately, I had lost my car keys the night before :)..ooops! So needless to say, I had to call around and try and find a ride. Thanks to Desiree of, Pack My Things, i was picked up about an hour and a half before the BBQ started. You should have seen us running through the aisles getting everything we need. First it was the school supplies then the food then the sides.....you get the picture. I was breathing hard by the time we got finished.

However, everything went well, even with the rain. Pictures from this fun event will be posted soon! Right after the BBQ I had to go host a Jazz night. So, of coarse, I'm soooooo tired! Off to bed I go with another great day with Neka's Posse'.

Well, my friends, it has been a long week for your girl! In the past seven days, we hosted a fundraiser for the "Community Cares Scholarship" which was a great time. Check out some of the pictures inside the photo gallery. AND...the most exciting thing....we had our first teen social and taping walk-through. Do you know what this means???? It means, that we start taping NEXT WEEK! How exciting is that?!?!

The practice taping was allot of fun for me. Just to see all the kids and teens having a good time was great. The girls got a chance to get makeovers, free Mary Kay and of coarse DJ Swiss was keeping us entertained with some great music. What a great bunch of kids.

Since this is my first television production, I am glad we had a practice run. There are always unexpected things that come up. Even when you think you have thought of everything. Next week we tape episode one and I invite and encourage all my teens, young adults and parents to come out and enjoy the fun.

It's almost time! That is right, we start filming Saturday,July 12th at The Hot Tin Roof. With all the planning and getting things together. I have meet so many cool people that can't wait to be apart of helping youth. This is exciting to me, because with all the issues kids face these days, its no wonder they want to grow up fast. What ever happened to a kid just being a kid, having no responsibility but making good grades and following the house rules? Unfortunately, even in the best situation, kids still go through problems we would never expect them to face.

But on this show we are going to focus on the positives. We will focus on kids futures and goals and the path they need to reach those goals.We will weed through every negative situation to find the positive solution.

Like I said before, I just can't wait! Currently, we are finishing up the final touches to the show. I will be meeting with the youth dance group, who will open and close every show with there hot moves. I will be meeting with a few sponsors and we will be hosting the first Community Cares Fundraiser.

The fundraiser is for the scholarships that we will be giving away to youth on the show. EVERY PENNY goes to the scholarship fund and straight to the kids.

Again, I'm excited!

Well, it has been a long couple of months preparing for the show and I am really, really excited! I can honestly say I don't want to look at another computer for a good month or so. My partner and I have been constantly working, creating, planning and everything else that comes along with starting a television show.

It has definitely been fun and if I had it to do all over again, wouldn't change a thing. In fact, that's one of the things that I want youth to understand about themselves. No matter what you want to do, no matter how big or small, no matter if it seems impossible. If you can think it, it can be done. All you need is faith and allot of perseverance. Which is never stopping no matter what obstacles come in your path. No matter what anyone tells you, no matter what, you still push forward to your goals. If it is truly something that you want to do. The entire process will not only be educational and beneficial, but it will be FUN!

I'm excited about all the topics and issues we will be able to take head on and even more excited to have organizations to help the youth who come through the program.

At this time, we are still in the planning and organizing process as we begin to start taping the first couple of shows. As we get closer to the first taping day, I get nervous, scared, excited....Im just a whole ball of emotions. I just can't wait!
